as we go through playing this game, and earning good scores, we'll encounter bits of numbers and calculations just to get the ball in the hole..
there are certain movements in-game, Tiles, PowerBar, and Cells.. i haven't tried Cell yet, because i don't even know how it works.. PowerBar is the most commonly used unit of measurement nowadays. and Tiles, as what they say, the Old School movement..
well for me, the "Term" doesn't actually matter, as long as you know what you're doing, and as long as you know how things work with your unit of measurement..
and to get this measurement right, we have to deal with some numbers..
and these numbers are multipliers..
1.) HWI, as introduced by the great sir Mygo, the Horizontal Wind Influence..
2.) Trigonometric function Sine value of an angle(commonly used)..
3.) Last but not the least, the Wind speed..
now most of the PangYa players heard of the term HWI, and others would think of it as cheating..
"lol! a 40-minute room, calc? do you use HWI??"
mind you, if you do any method of calculating to sink a ball in the hole, you're dealing with HWI, believe me..
"you use HWI? you're cheating!"
by saying this, its like accusing a person for knowing the answer as 8 in the equation 5 + _ = 13..
there are 2 types of dealing with HWI..
1.) the complicated way.. (dealing with a 3-5 digit number [.658 .4526 .54264] and using a scientific calculator to compute)
2.) the simple way.. (dealing with 1-2 digit number [.46 .67 .53 .81 .7 .5] and using the chatbar, pen and paper to calculate, or simply mind calculating)
[ok ok, too much for that info, thank you.. now what is HWI!!???]
HWI is just a part of the story, even if you have a PERFECT set of HWI, there's no guarantee for you to have a perfect score..
[WHAT?? so what are you trying to say?]
Wind/Angle reading is the toughest among all multipliers.. 1m, 2m, 3m, a little mistake in wind reading will still get your ball in the hole if you're lucky, talk about 7m-9m winds, little mistakes in wind reading will lead you to a huge mistake in aiming..
[so where can i find this HWI?]
a certain yard of a certain drive has its own HWI value ..
236yards of a 250 drive doesn't have the same HWI value for 236yards of a 260 drive..
[i see, so how do you actually count this thing?]
i'll tell you in my next post.. :)
see you around!
